Drivers warned of M25 closures forcing motorists to travel through Ulez routes
Motorists are being notified about weekend shutdowns on the M25, which could result in Ulez fees if alternate routes are not chosen wisely.
The planned closures will take place over three weekends in October and November, impacting the slip roads that link the M25 and A3. As a result, drivers will have to take alternative routes through the Ulez roads in London.
Junction 10 of the M25 will be shut down from 9 PM on Fridays until 6 AM on Mondays during the weekends of October 4, October 18, and November 1.
The closures are part of a three-year, £317 million initiative aimed at renovating the most congested part of the M25, which experiences more than 300,000 vehicles every day.

The roads will be shut down as part of a £317 million initiative to modernize the most heavily used segment of the M25 motorway.
A representative from National Highways explained: "Although the Ultra Low Emission Zone in London will still be active during these closures, the designated alternate routes have been planned to help drivers steer clear of any fees."
The recent shutdowns come after three complete weekend closures that took place earlier this year, with additional ones scheduled for 2025.
There will be extra overnight road closures this week until September 27, impacting several slip roads and parts of the A3.
Drivers are encouraged to take the marked detours to steer clear of Ulez fees. Nonetheless, two out of the seven recommended diversion routes go along the A243 near Chessington World of Adventures, which is part of the Ulez zone.
National Highways has set up seven alternative routes for drivers to take in order to avoid the areas that are closed.
These pathways are created to steer vehicles away from the Ulez zone, allowing drivers to bypass the daily £12.50 fee for vehicles that don't meet the compliance standards.
Drivers are highly encouraged to adhere to the marked detours or verify their vehicle's eligibility on the Transport for London website prior to setting out.
If you're traveling east on the M25 toward Gatwick and need to get to the A3, you'll need to take a detour. Exit at Junction 11 and then follow the A320 and A245.
M25 junctions 10 and 11 will be shut down on weekends during October and November.
The advantages of the initiative on the M25 include enhancing safety and travel times, alleviating traffic jams, improving the overall flow of vehicles, and boosting capacity while offering improved connectivity.
It aims to enhance opportunities for cyclists, walkers, and horse riders, while also contributing to the economic development of the local and national communities.
