Luke Evans has sparked outrage among Saturday Kitchen fans simply for wearing a hat.

The Welsh actor and singer joined the program to discuss his latest book, *Boy From the Valleys: My Unexpected Journey*. At 45, Luke has had a fascinating career. He portrayed Gaston in Disney's live-action adaptation and has made a mark in popular franchises like *Fast and Furious* and *The Hobbit*. Although he was once a strong contender for the James Bond role, he recently decided against pursuing it, giving him plenty to share during the conversation.

Sadly, the hat ended up diverting some attention from his discussion with host chef Matt Tebbutt on the BBC program.

His decision to wear a flat cap was met with backlash. "Just take that blooming cap off!!" commented Kevinmharris58 on Instagram. It seems he isn't too fond of Tom Jones' song "You Can Leave Your Hat On."

"How inconsiderate to eat while wearing your hat! ????" commented AvtechnikTi. "I can't see Luke's face – it's strange! ????" wrote Newent66.

"One of my biggest pet peeves is seeing men wear hats inside," vented JustMe on X.

Mr. Chambers cautioned, "Remove your hat; otherwise, you won't enjoy the fresh air when you step outside..."

Great Uncle Bryan questioned, "Who wears a hat inside?" Well, you have chefs, cowboys, construction workers, and of course, Luke Evans.*

On the other hand, some people had a more upbeat reaction. Magstarparker commented, "I'm really loving Luke’s baker boy hat! Where can I get it?" Meanwhile, MrsMo2021 was eager to find out the details for her husband, who is really into it.

Luke shared some interesting stories, like the time Boy George spent the night at his place after getting locked out of his own house. He also recounted an amusing moment when he thought Joan Rivers was in tears when they first encountered each other—only for George to clarify, “That's just the result of her surgery.”

Last month, a different guest on Saturday Kitchen found it necessary to justify their choice of clothing.

Chef Kate Carter-Larg responded to claims that her outfit for the show was "inappropriate" after multiple viewers criticized the sleeveless top she wore during her live TV appearance.

"If you're familiar with me in person or check out our social media, you’ll see that I'm almost always in a strapless top since I live right by the beach," she shared.

"I didn’t exactly show up in a thong and nipple tassels, but that's how it feels like everyone's reacting. I thought I was just going on TV to showcase our toasties—I never even considered that my arms would be visible!"

Saturday Kitchen is back this Saturday at 10 AM on BBC One and available for streaming on BBC iPlayer.
