Luke Evans, known for his role in Fast & Furious, has openly shared details about his relationship with his boyfriend, Fran Tomas, who is both an entrepreneur and a construction project manager.
In an interview with People, the openly gay actor and Hollywood sensation shared that he views his boyfriend Tomas, who he has been in a relationship with for three years, as his “best friend.”
"We make an awesome team in life. He's my closest friend. He's like a tranquil, deep lake, while I'm more like fast-moving, bubbly streams. Together, we can tackle any challenge," Evans told the magazine.
He mentioned that the duo collaborates effectively as a team, especially when it comes to their fashion and lifestyle brand, BDXY, which offers men's underwear, swimwear, and essential clothing items.
"Running a business together is simply a continuation of our life as a couple. We collaborate seamlessly. I'm constantly amazed by him; he excels in everything he undertakes, both in our business and in life," Evans said.
Earlier this year, the celebrity – who has featured in a number of LGBTQ+ films like Good Grief alongside Dan Levy and Our Son with Billy Porter – shared that his connection with Fran Tomas helps him stay “grounded”.
"I believe what has helped me stay grounded is the support of my friends and family. They mean a lot to me. My partner also plays a vital role in keeping me steady and relaxed in this unusual world I navigate," he told Out Magazine.
"He's an amazing person. He has a gentle and peaceful nature, always carries a sense of joy, and maintains an optimistic outlook. He works really hard and truly helps me become a better version of myself. I can only wonder how challenging it must be for him to deal with my flaws and shortcomings."
Luke Evans has recently published his memoir titled *Boy From the Valleys: My Unexpected Journey*, where he shares his experiences of growing up as a gay Jehovah's Witness in Wales.
In the book, he shares that he faced intense bullying during his school years, mainly due to his religious beliefs at that time and his classmates' assumptions about his sexual orientation.
In his memoir, he reflected, "I experienced bullying for my sexuality long before I fully grasped what it meant."
The most hurtful nickname was Jovey Bender, as it highlighted two parts of who I am that can never come together – being gay is not accepted in my faith.
“It’s an incredibly bleak situation for a child to feel like they don't fit in, sensing that something is amiss without understanding what it is or how to change it,” he added.
"I really disliked school. Kids can be incredibly cruel and unkind; some of them can be really nasty. If there's anything about you that stands out, you become an easy target – and I stood out in just about every way you could imagine."
"Boy From the Valleys: My Surprising Journey" is now on sale.
