Liverpool v Real Madrid: TV details, injury news and all you need to know about Champions League showdown

Liverpool vs Real Madrid

Trent Alexander-Arnold will be ready to play for Liverpool in tonight's Champions League match against Real Madrid.

The defender had to leave the game against Aston Villa before the international break due to an injury and later withdrew from the England squad because of a hamstring issue.

Alexander-Arnold was unavailable for the 3-2 victory against Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday. Slot had mentioned that the right-back might be back in action sometime between the match against Madrid and the League game against Manchester City on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Alexander-Arnold practiced with the Liverpool team, increasing his attempts to show he’s fit before the upcoming match against the Spanish club. Slot stated that the defender would be included in the squad, although it is doubtful he will be in the starting lineup.

Harvey Elliott was back on the bench on Sunday after recovering from a foot injury, which gives Slot more choices for the lineup, although many key players are still sidelined.

Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, and Federico Chiesa will all be absent for the upcoming match against the European champions.

Alexis Mac Allister and Luis Diaz might return to the first team following their time on the sidelines in the match against Southampton, but Kostas Tsimikas will be unavailable due to an ankle injury.

Liverpool is likely to remain unchanged, as Trent Alexander-Arnold is not expected to play after sitting out the victory against Southampton due to a hamstring injury.

Real Madrid has suffered a significant setback with Vinicius Jr's injury just before the match, as the player has sustained an injury to his leg.

They are optimistic about having Lucas Vazquez back from injury, but Rodrygo and Aurelien Tchouameni are still unavailable. Arda Guler and Dani Ceballos played against Leganes and will be aiming to retain their positions in the lineup.
