Chelsea continued their flawless beginning with new manager Sonia Bompastor, securing an easy 3-0 victory against Liverpool at St Helens.
Goals by Mayra Ramirez and Guro Reiten towards the end of the first half paved the way for the win, and Aggie Beever-Jones capped off the scoring at the finish.
The victory brought the champions to just one point behind Manchester City, who are at the top of the Women's Super League, and they also have a match in hand. Meanwhile, Liverpool is still looking for their first win at their new stadium.
Bompastor has successfully guided the team to six victories out of six matches in the tournament, scoring a total of 13 goals in their last three matches.
Honoka Hayashi scored with a header in the second half, helping Everton secure a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, who are also struggling in the league.
The visitors seemed on the verge of facing yet another loss when Indiah-Paige Riley scored for Palace just 29 seconds into the game. However, Hayashi's contribution allowed them to secure only their third point of the season.
Everton had a rough beginning as they struggled to handle My Cato's run into the penalty area. The Swedish player then passed the ball to Riley, who easily found the back of the net for an early goal.
However, the spectators reacted positively as Hayashi hit the crossbar just three minutes later, and Heather Payne nearly set up an equalizer after Palace goalkeeper Shae Yanez was caught off guard in the penalty area.
Everton finally managed to level the score in the 70th minute when Hayashi headed in a cross from Veatriki Sarri, marking just their second goal of the season.
The outcome places this season's new WSL team, Palace, two points ahead of their opponents on Sunday.
