This follows their victory against Manchester City, where they won 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday.

The current nine-point lead is the largest margin for them as league leaders since they triumphed in the 2019-20 season, during which they enjoyed an impressive 18-point cushion over the Citizens.

This match marked City's fourth consecutive loss in the Premier League, leading to some playful taunting from the Reds fans in the stands. They sang, "You're getting sacked in the morning," aimed at manager Pep Guardiola.

The defeat dropped City down to fifth position, placing them behind Brighton in fourth, Chelsea in third, and Arsenal in second.

Guardiola reacted by holding up six fingers to the Liverpool fans, representing the six Premier League championships he has secured with his team.
