Lily Allen mentioned celebrating Christmas "by herself" just before news emerged about her split from her husband, David Harbour, who is known for his role in Stranger Things.
Allen tied the knot with Harbour in 2019 after they connected on Raya, a prestigious dating app favored by celebrities and other notable individuals.
On Monday, December 23, it was reported that Allen made an appearance on the dating app Raya again just the week before.
This has sparked unverified rumors suggesting that the "Smile" singer has ended her relationship with Harbour, who portrays Hopper in Netflix's popular sci-fi series Stranger Things.
As reported by MailOnline, her profile mentioned: “In search of a partner to begin relationship counseling.”
The Independent has reached out to representatives of Allen and Harbour for a response.
These statements emerged just after a recent episode of the widely listened to BBC Sounds podcast Miss Me?, where Allen's co-host, Miquita Oliver, posed a question to her friend: “Do you spend Christmas dinner by yourself?”
In the Christmas episode, which was filmed while she wasn't wearing her wedding ring, Allen announced that she would be traveling from the US to London and then on to Nairobi, Kenya, for the holidays.
She mentioned that there was a sudden adjustment to her schedule after admitting she had “totally overlooked” the fact that she had tickets to attend a performance of The Nutcracker at the Lincoln Center with her family.
Oliver inquired of Allen, who has two kids, "Now that you have your own family, do you host Christmas dinner by yourself?"
Allen said, “I haven't experienced that so far. Maybe just once. I really enjoy cooking and the preparation process – it feels very soothing to me.”
The singer who became an actor has mentioned that being in a long-distance relationship with Harbour has been beneficial because, as they say, "absence makes the heart grow fonder."
She mentioned to Oliver, "We often use FaceTime, but there are times when it feels overwhelming. During those moments, we might go a couple of days without speaking, and honestly, it's refreshing."
Allen has shared that she and Harbour likely wouldn't have tied the knot if it hadn't been for the Covid-19 pandemic.
The couple initially connected on the dating app Raya in 2020 and tied the knot in Las Vegas the following year.
Allen was once wed to Sam Cooper, the father of her two daughters. The pair split up in 2016 and completed their divorce in 2018.
Regarding their relationship being linked to the global pandemic, Allen stated on the Where There’s a Will, There’s a Wake podcast that without the lockdown, they would have likely faced challenges in finding time to be together.
“He's an actor, and I have two kids who were six and seven years old back then,” she shared with the podcast host at that time.
"I'm not sure we could have spent enough time together to realize that our relationship would be strong enough to justify the leap of moving to America as a couple."
She mentioned that since they had to live together for a year, it led her to believe their relationship had the potential to thrive, so she decided to move to the United States.
"If it hadn't taken place, I really don't think that chance would have come up," she remarked.
