Lil Durk, 32, whose actual name is Durk Devontay Banks, is currently in custody at a jail in Broward County, Florida, after being taken into custody on Thursday, as indicated by the arrest records from Broward County.

According to arrest records, Lil Durk was taken into custody on charges related to a murder-for-hire scheme. However, the specific details of his role in the alleged plot remain ambiguous.

On Thursday morning, five men—Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston—who prosecutors claim are connected to Only The Family, were taken into custody in Chicago. They were brought before the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse, as reported by the Chicago Tribune.

An indictment submitted to the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles outlines charges against the five individuals. These include plotting to carry out a murder-for-hire that led to someone's death, as well as utilizing a machine gun that caused death.

Prosecutors accused five men of plotting to murder rapper Quando Rondo in 2022. This was said to be an act of revenge for a 2020 incident where a clash between Rondo's group and King Von's group led to gunfire, resulting in King Von's death. In connection with that incident, Quando Rondo’s associate, Timothy "Lul Tim" Leeks, was charged with murder.

Prosecutors allege that the five men went to Los Angeles with the intention of shooting and killing Quando Rondo while he was in his car. However, their gunfire tragically struck his cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, also known as Lul Pab, who was riding as a passenger in the vehicle.

Forbes has contacted Lil Durk's representatives and the lawyers of the five individuals detained in Chicago.

Two weeks following the incident, Quando Rondo dropped a track titled "End of Story," where he appeared to address the situation. In the song, he asserted that the shooting was an act of self-defense, rapping, "he shouldn't have never put his hands on me, look at the footage, that's all the evidence."

Before his arrest, Lil Durk was actively promoting his upcoming album, "Deep Thoughts," scheduled to drop on November 22. In October, he released a number of new tracks, including "Late Checkout," which came out two weeks ago.
