Who is Liam Payne's ex-fiancé Maya Henry?

The 31-year-old is being honored by his supporters and loved ones, while his family has issued a heartfelt statement expressing their sorrow.

“We are devastated. Liam will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we will cherish the memories of his kind, humorous, and courageous spirit," the family's statement, shared on Thursday, said.

Since he was 16, Payne has been in the spotlight, so he was accustomed to media attention. This scrutiny reached its peak while he was dating American model Maya Henry.

The couple started their romantic relationship in 2019 and got engaged in August 2020. However, they broke up in June 2021, only to get back together later that same year and become engaged once more.

By May 2022, they had separated for the second time.

Last week, she allegedly initiated legal action and filed a cease-and-desist notice against the 31-year-old.

As of 4 PM on Thursday, Henry had not provided any remarks regarding the death.

Henry is a model and author who has also made a career as an influencer.

Originally from Texas, she is the child of well-known local lawyer Thomas J. Henry, who had enough money in 2015 to reportedly spend $6 million on her Quinceañera (a celebration for her 15th birthday). Payne attended that extravagant event as a guest. Her mother's name is Azteca Henry, and she also has a brother.

At just 23 years old, she is definitely among the youngest people Liam Payne has been involved with, with the oldest being 54-year-old Naomi Campbell. They started dating in 2019 when Henry was still in her teens.

During this time, Henry found employment as a top-tier model and built a name for himself as a socialite, mingling with prominent figures at various gatherings and events.

The couple experienced a tumultuous relationship, initially getting engaged before splitting up. They later got back together, became engaged once more, only to part ways again.

Henry criticized social media trolls for posting photos of Payne with other women while they were engaged.

She expressed, “I kindly ask you to stop sharing those images of my fiancé with another woman. This isn’t me, and it’s difficult to come to terms with what has occurred without having to look at it. This needs to end.”

Henry subsequently submitted a cease-and-desist request against him, but the specifics have mostly stayed private.

In 2023, she created a fictional version of her story in the book titled Looking Forward.

"One of the ways the book was fictionalized was through changes to names and by altering the names of certain cities," she explained about the project.
