Liam Manning: Bristol City appoint Oxford boss as new head coach 10 days after Nigel Pearson sacking

Liam Manning

Bristol City has announced that Liam Manning, the current Oxford United manager, will be taking over as their new head coach. This comes after the club dismissed former head coach Nigel Pearson approximately 10 days ago.

Manning departs Oxford United as they sit in second place in League One, despite only having been a part of the squad for 29 games since joining the club back in March.

The person in question is 39 years old and has previously been the manager of several football teams including MK Dons, FK Lommel in Belgium, and West Ham's U23s. They will now take charge of their first game as manager of Bristol City, which will be played against QPR, a team currently second from bottom in the league, on Saturday. Chris Hogg, who worked as their assistant at the Kassam Stadium, will also be joining them at their new club, Ashton Gate.

After securing a 1-0 triumph over the bottom-ranked team Sheffield Wednesday in their previous match, City has secured the 11th position in the Championship league.

Curtis Fleming, who used to be an assistant manager for the Robins, has decided to leave the club after the arrival of Manning. He had joined the team during Pearson's time as manager and was in charge of the team's win against the Owls.

The head of the club, Jon Lansdown, spoke on the club's website saying, "We immediately decided on Liam after the change and we appreciate how Oxford United handled the departure of someone who was doing an excellent job for them in a very professional manner."

We are thrilled that Liam and Chris have joined our team, and we're looking forward to achieving our club's ambitions with this skilled and dedicated group of athletes.

"Robins Squad: Inexperienced Yet Promising Analysis"

Ron Walker from Sky Sports stated:

There is no doubt about Bristol City's desired path in the near future, given their selection of Liam Manning as their manager.

He became famous by coaching rising stars who are still in the early stages of their careers, even prior to getting his own job with a professional team. This happened while he worked at the Etihad Campus for the City Group, and later with West Ham U23s.

The Robins possess an abundance of players with similar styles - in fact, it could be argued that there were seven who began playing against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

However, since this is a significant chance for Manning in his inaugural Championship position, it is also unknown terrain for him and his fresh bosses.

The football team City has not achieved the goal of being in the top six, as stated by Jon Lansdown, since 2008. They were in a lower league, League One, more recently than being in contention for promotion to the higher league, Championship. It will require considerable effort and time to change the situation.

Similarly, even though Manning has demonstrated potential in both of his high-ranking positions in English soccer, he was dismissed by MK Dons due to the sale of his top performers. He also only lasted a short time at Oxford before departing midway through the season.

The disappointment of the supporters of the Yellow team, who believed that their team was heading towards success during his brief tenure, could potentially be seen as a positive sign for the supporters of the Red team.

Perhaps he has the potential to put an end to the repetitive pattern.
