Bristol City’s manager, Liam Manning, is stepping away from his role temporarily due to the loss of his infant son.

In a statement, the football club expressed their profound sorrow over the loss of Liam's newborn son, Theo John Manning.

They commented, "We understand that Bristol City's fans, along with the entire football community, will express their condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Liam, his wife Fran, and his son Isaac during this challenging time."

The Championship team didn't specify the length of time the 39-year-old will be absent.

The team announced that Chris Hogg, Manning's assistant, will step in on a temporary basis while he is away.

Several football clubs and players shared their sympathies and offered condolences after the news was released on Monday, including Bristol Rovers, who are rivals of City.

"The entire Bristol Rovers team extends their heartfelt sympathy and support to Liam and the Manning family during this incredibly difficult period," the club expressed.
