Formula One star Lewis Hamilton to leave Mercedes and join Ferrari
According to Sky Sports News, Lewis Hamilton, a well-known British Formula One athlete, will be departing from Mercedes and transitioning to Ferrari in 2025.
The CEO of the Mercedes Formula 1 team, Toto Wolff, is scheduled to give information about the team at the Mercedes factory before an official announcement later today.
Hamilton was connected to the Ferrari team for 2024, but he agreed to stay with his current team for an additional two years by signing a £100m contract that will take him to the conclusion of 2025.
As per the agreement, it is known that the racer who has won the world championship seven times is allowed to depart from Mercedes by the end of this year.
The prediction is that he will take over from Carlos Sainz as the new driver at Ferrari.
Sainz's agreement with Ferrari is set to conclude by the close of 2024, on the other hand, Charles Leclerc - the additional driver for Ferrari - has recently reached an agreement for a lengthy ongoing deal.
Hamilton admitted to ESPN in May 2023, before he signed his current contract, that he would not be truthful if he claimed he had never considered concluding his career elsewhere.
He mentioned that he pondered and observed the Ferrari racers on the monitors present at the circuit. It's natural to have curious thoughts about how it would feel to be a part of the team in red.
However, he proceeded to express that Mercedes feels like his "place of residence" and that he is content with his current situation there.

The decision would put a halt to a very prosperous collaboration, as Hamilton succeeded in obtaining six global championships within only seven years, starting from 2014 until 2020.
Nevertheless, Mercedes is no longer leading the race and Hamilton has not achieved a victory since the year 2021.
Both Mercedes and Ferrari have refrained from making any comments.
Prior to joining Mercedes, the 39-year-old was a racer for McLaren.
The upcoming season of F1 will commence with the Bahrain Grand Prix on the 28th of February.
