Lest we forget: Remembrance Sunday parade and service at Brora
This morning, a parade and service took place in Brora in honor of those who have lost their lives.
Colin Simpson, a talented piper from Brora with an impressive background in piping, took the lead in the parade.
The parade started at the Gower Street truck parking area and proceeded along the A9 highway that goes through the village, continuing down to the Clyne War Memorial.
Rev. Ricky MacDonald, the minister of Brora Free Church and a teacher at Golspie High School, conducted the service.
Christine Port, speaking on behalf of the Catholic Church, shared Psalm 46, while Rev MacDonald read a passage from John Chapter 14.
The singing was conducted by Angus Millar from the Church of Scotland and David Roberts from the Free Church.
Two hymns were performed: "O God of Bethel" and "O God, Our Help in Ages Past."
A moment of silence was held as the memorial clock chimed 11 o'clock.
Representatives from various veterans, youth, and community organizations placed eleven wreaths at the base of the war memorial. This group included members from Brora Rangers Football Club, the 1st Brora Scouts, Brora Primary School, the Rotary Club of East Sutherland, and the Brora Community Council.
