Tottenham's slim hopes of Champions League football next season took a massive dent with a 3-1 loss to Leeds on Saturday.

Stuart Dallas put Leeds ahead on 13 minutes before Son Heung-Min netted the equaliser but Leeds went ahead again just before the break through Patrick Bamford's 15th league goal of the campaign. Rodrigo added a third with five minutes to go and the result leaves Tottenham five points off the top four, with three games remaining.

Leeds began the brighter of the two teams and created numerous chances before taking the lead early on. Sergio Reguilon diverted Jack Harrison's cross towards his own goal and though Hugo Lloris kept it out, Dallas made no mistake from close range, firing into the roof of the net.

Spurs were not behind for long, though, as Dele Alli found Son and he slotted coolly into the back of the net on 25 minutes for his 22nd goal of the season -- the best return of his career.

Lloris was then at his best to deny Harrison as Leeds looked to get back in front, the Spurs goalkeeper doing well to tip the shot over the bar for a corner.

Tottenham thought they had taken the lead on the half hour mark when Alli found Kane, who finished superbly, but the VAR ruled it offside by the tightest of margins.

"I get it if it is an inch offside," Tottenham interim coach Ryan Mason told the BBC.

"It is a tight decision but in my opinion it is not offside. You don't understand the momentum shift that can have in football. It is a totally different mindset at 2-1."

It was Leeds, though, who went ahead again four minutes before the interval following a flowing team move that Bamford finished off from close range.

Kane had another goal ruled out for offside early in the second half -- this time there was no debate -- while Son struck the side netting as Spurs looked for a way back into the game. Kane's frustrating afternoon continued as he hit the bar from a free kick.

Mason took off Gareth Bale and Alli for Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela with a quarter of the game to go, but the visitors could not find a way past a resilient Leeds side, who moved on to 50 points in their first season back in the top flight with Rodrigo slamming home a third late on to round off a fine afternoon.
