Sizzling Summer Series concerts set to return to Millennium Square

The Summer Series, a much-awaited music event, is all set to happen at Millennium Square and will showcase some of the most thrilling performances this summer.

This year's annual concert event will be taking place in Leeds from July 3 to August 4, 2024, and promises to bring a lively festival atmosphere to the city. With 13 must-see performances scheduled, it's sure to be an impressive show.

Amidst the grandeur of the Leeds Civic Hall, people who love music will enjoy a diverse mixture of up-and-coming performers and internationally famous legends.

On Wednesday, July 3, the Sounds Of The City concert series will start the festival. The concert series will have an incredible group of popular rock, indie, and pop performers. Top singers, such as Nothing But Thieves, Anne-Marie, Tom Grennan, Paloma Faith, Busted, James Arthur, Suede, and Manic Street Preachers, will perform along with special guests.

If you're yearning for a blast from the past, mark your calendar for July 20th! The Orchestra of Opera North is bringing back the 80s Classical concert series for its fifth installment. This time around, you can expect to hear legendary performers such as Bananarama, Midge Ure, Johnny Hates Jazz, and Deniece Pearson of Five Star fame. So why not indulge in a little nostalgia and catch this unforgettable show?

For those who appreciate the tunes of the 70s, the widely acclaimed disco event called Brutus Gold's Love Train will be back for its yearly outdoor party. Also, Millennium Square will be presenting two remarkable tribute concerts featuring Legend - The Music of Bob Marley on August 1st and The Magic Of Motown on August 2nd, which are not to be missed.

To honor the talent from the area, Yard Act from Leeds will be in the spotlight on August 3 for their greatest hometown performance so far. The festival will conclude on August 4 with the traditional Leeds Ska & Mod event featuring well-known performers such as The Beat featuring Ranking Jnr, Stranger Cole, and The Chords UK.

To make the celebrations even better, the beginning of the yearly Leeds Pride festivities will occur at Millennium Square, with a costless gathering on July 21.

Jonathan Pryor, who is the deputy leader and executive member for economy, culture and education at Leeds City Council, shared that during the summer season, Millennium Square is a center point for music and live acts. These performances encourage thousands of people to come together in the heart of the city center.
