England fans turn on Lee Carsley after he refuses to sing national anthem at Wembley
England supporters have expressed their disapproval of Lee Carsley after he chose not to participate in the national anthem during his first home match as manager.
Carsley took on the role of interim manager following Gareth Southgate's resignation earlier this summer, but he had yet to lead a match until this past weekend.
Prior to the match between the Three Lions and the Republic of Ireland, the ex-Birmingham player disclosed that he would refrain from singing the national anthem.
Carsley represented the Irish national team in 40 matches, even though he was born in Birmingham. He was eligible to play for Ireland thanks to his grandparents.
Lee Carsley chose not to sing the national anthem.
However, the England coach has remained silent while "God Save The King" echoed through Wembley, where the fans in attendance showed it the respect it deserves.
Fans are beginning to lose patience with Carsley's lack of communication, expressing their frustrations on social media about the former midfielder.
GB News commentator Jacob Rees-Mogg was especially harsh in his criticism of the England coach before the match started, stating that he ought to sing the national anthem beforehand.
While discussing on GB News, he mentioned, "Sinn Fein members of Parliament are unable to assume their positions in Parliament since they refuse to pledge allegiance to the Crown."
They do not recognize the validity of the constitutional agreement.
"It’s completely understandable to seek change through democratic processes, and it's essential to protect the right to free speech."

England supporters are dissatisfied with Lee Carsley.
Carsley is viewed as the leading candidate for the permanent position with the England team after moving up from his position as coach of the Under-21 squad.
In his first match as coach, he secured a victory against the Republic of Ireland, with both Declan Rice and Jack Grealish finding the back of the net. Interestingly, they had previously represented their country at the youth level.
The FA is also considering Eddie Howe and Graham Potter as potential candidates, while Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have been brought up as possibilities as well.
