Who Is Lauren Oakley? Find Out Here!
The 33-year-old professional dancer began her dance journey at just two years old and soon transitioned into competitive dancing. By the age of seven, she was competing in ballroom and Latin dance, eventually earning the title of juvenile champion at the Blackpool Dance Festival.
Later in her career, she claimed victory at the under-21 British National Championships before becoming a part of the Strictly Come Dancing team in 2022. In addition to her role on the popular BBC show, she has taken center stage in the national tour "Him & Me" alongside Giovanni Pernice and Anton Du Beke, and has also featured in Giovanni's solo tour, "This Is Me."
In her debut season on the show, Lauren became part of the ensemble cast and participated in several group performances, including a Rumba with Neil Jones in the second week. In 2023, she was paired with her first celebrity partner, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, a newsreader for Channel 4.
The dancing pair did a great job in the competition, reaching week eight before being eliminated by Kai Widdrington and his partner Angela Rippon in the dance-off.
Lauren And Max: Life As A Married Couple
When she's not in the limelight of Strictly, Lauren loves to spend quality time with her husband, Maximiliano Omar Montes de Oca, whom she married in September 2019. On their wedding day, Lauren resembled a stunning bride in her intricately designed lace dress, while Max looked sharp in a three-piece suit complemented by a sage green tie.
Lauren sometimes posts heartfelt messages about Max on her Instagram. In June, she celebrated her "handsome husband" for finishing his degree through the Open University.
Showering compliments on her partner, she expressed: "My beautiful husband is always talking me up, so I think it's finally time for me to tell everyone how amazing he is."
"@maximontes93 completed and submitted his final assignment for his degree last night. He's been pursuing this degree with @theopenuniversity for over five years."
She went on to say, "While managing a full-time job and pursuing her passions—like studying Japanese, caring for our charming home, tending to our plants, and looking after our furry friends—she was also establishing a life with me in a new country. On top of that, she made time for the gym, running, and whatever the latest fitness trend was each month, all while encouraging me in my career. I couldn't be more proud."
