Certain Republicans are worried that far-right activist Laura Loomer is having an impact on former President Donald Trump. They are also concerned that she might be connected to his lackluster performance in the debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.

On the day of the debate and the following morning, Loomer was on Trump's plane. According to someone familiar with the president's campaign, there are concerns that she might be amplifying Trump's vulnerabilities, as reported by Semafor.

The potential impact of the far-right activist on the former president is being examined more closely, especially after Trump seemed to lose his composure in response to Harris's challenges. At one moment, he even shouted about unverified claims that Haitian migrants in Ohio were stealing and eating pets, despite having no proof to support his statements.

"The Trump campaign may have set some limits for her, but in my opinion, it's not effective," a source close to Trump shared with the publication.

Last year, The New York Times disclosed that Trump instructed his team to offer Loomer a role in the campaign. However, he reversed that decision after receiving feedback from worried Republicans.

Loomer has gained a reputation for her provocative actions, such as when she protested her ban from Twitter by chaining herself to the New York office of the platform, donning a yellow Jewish star and likening her situation to that of Holocaust victims. This controversial far-right figure has expressed support for white nationalism and claimed that the United States is a “white Judeo-Christian ethnostate” that is being deteriorated by diversity.

Republican strategist Dennis Lennox stated to Semafor that "Trump didn't do well in the debate due to his performance or the absence of it."

“That’s the result of improvising, getting caught up in the Fox News and X environment, and depending on people like Matt Gaetz and even Laura Loomer,” he remarked.

Nevertheless, a source connected to the Trump campaign revealed to the publication that Loomer did not participate in the debate preparation meetings.

“She doesn’t meddle, as some might say,” the person remarked. “In reality, she’s incredibly supportive and truly uplifting to be around.”

On Wednesday, the Harris campaign released a segment from CNN that sharply criticized Loomer, highlighting her racist comments on X regarding Harris’s Indian background. In response, Loomer alleged that Harris was "angry" about the coverage.

"I’m not concerned if the media takes issue with my truthful posts," she continued. "What I find truly offensive is how they manipulate the government and its policies that have wrecked our nation! Let them stay angry!"

Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who aligns with the right, described Loomer's remarks about Harris's background as "shocking and deeply racist."

She stated, "This doesn’t reflect our identity as Republicans or as part of the MAGA movement. It doesn’t represent President Trump either. Such conduct should never be accepted. @LauraLoomer needs to remove this."

Greene has cautioned Trump about linking up with Loomer, a former ally of hers. Loomer has labeled Greene a "traitor." In the past year, Greene described Loomer as "mentally unstable" and referred to her as a "documented liar."
