Lana Del Rey's rumored boyfriend is a Louisiana swamp tour guide. Who is Jeremy Dufrene?

Pictures of Lana Del Rey with a swamp tour guide from Louisiana have caused rumors about their relationship to spread on social media.

The famous musician and Jeremy Dufrene, who works as a boat captain at Airboat Tours by Arthur Matherne in Des Allemands, were seen walking hand in hand before she performed at the 2024 Reading & Leeds Festival in England. After the concert, the British newspaper Daily Mail mentioned that Del Rey and Dufrene were seen together at a nearby pub in London.

Lots of Del Rey's devoted fans were surprised by the rumored romance, but Del Rey and Dufrene actually crossed paths several years ago.

In March 2019, Del Rey shared pictures on her Facebook page of her and some pals hanging out in Des Allemands. One picture featured Del Rey and Dufrene chilling together on an airboat, with her throwing up a peace sign at the camera. The day before, Dufrene had posted a photo on Facebook of him and Del Rey posing in front of some marshland.

At 39 years old, Del Rey made her mark in the music world in 2012 with a style that captivated fans worldwide. She portrayed a vintage Hollywood look, often seen with her hair styled in a beehive and a cigarette in hand, showcasing long, red nails. Del Rey embraced a melancholic persona as she sang about California, complicated relationships, and American freedom.

She has visited Louisiana many times during her career.

In 2014, she took the stage at Champion Square in New Orleans, one of the first shows at the venue with a full audience. Two years later, she sparkled in a gown adorned with glittering jewels while performing at the 2016 Buku Music + Art Project in New Orleans.

Del Rey went back to Louisiana in May of this year and traveled by boat through swamp waters. She tagged Dufrene in a picture on Instagram and then performed at Hangout Fest in Orange Beach, Alabama. A few weeks later, she shared more photos from the New Orleans area, including one of her sitting in a booth at the quaint diner Tic-Toc Café in Metairie.

Who Is Jeremy Dufrene?

Dufrene, a 49-year-old man from Louisiana, started working as an airboat tour guide after spending all week at a chemical plant. According to the Airboat Tour's website, he used to catch shrimp on his days off.

Dufrene's family encouraged him to get his captain's license and begin leading tours, the website explained. Once he became a certified tour guide, he knew he would never go back to working in a factory.

The tour company stated that Dufrene discovered that working on an airboat was a perfect match for him.

"Jeremy is an excellent airboat captain," stated Airboat Tours, "who thoroughly enjoys engaging with both wildlife and customers."

Dufrene has encountered other famous people while working in Louisiana's swamps and marshes that he has not met before. In 2016, Glen Powell shared a picture on Instagram of himself and Dufrene on an airboat, long before the actor came back to Louisiana to shoot the crime comedy "Hit Man."
