Lana Del Rey to play Hampden Park in Glasgow next year
Lana Del Rey has revealed plans for a concert at Hampden Park in Glasgow next summer.
The concert on June 26 will be a part of the singer's largest tour in the UK and Ireland to date. During this tour, she will perform in stadiums located in Cardiff, Liverpool, Dublin, and London.
The 39-year-old was the main act at this year's Reading and Leeds festival, and also headlined the renowned Coachella festival in the United States.
She also grabbed attention when she tied the knot with her boyfriend Jeremy Dufrene, who works as an alligator tour guide, in Louisiana this past September.
Del Rey, whose actual name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, gained widespread recognition in 2011 with the release of her song "Video Games," which was soon followed by her first album, titled after herself.
Since then, she has launched nine albums and received several awards, including two BRIT awards, all while maintaining an enigmatic and stylish persona.
Her most recent project, Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, garnered favorable feedback and received a nomination for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards.
The Hampden concert will mark her return to Scotland for the first time since she played at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow back in 2017.
In addition, she has other connections to the city; she was in a relationship with Barrie James O'Neill, a singer from Glasgow who was part of the band Kassidy, for a while.
Hampden has frequently been the venue for pop concerts in recent years, featuring performances from artists like Pink and the rock band Foo Fighters this summer.
Tickets will be available for purchase starting Friday at 10:00 AM.
