The 38-year-old vocalist chatted behind the scenes at the Ivors event held in London. She received a unique reward for her exceptional music career and her impact on songwriting.

When questioned about the possibility of crafting a Bond soundtrack, she retorted back with disbelief, "Why hasn't it occurred yet?"

According to the BBC, the singer behind "Summertime Sadness" proceeded to perform the refrain of her track "24" from her album Honeymoon released in 2015.

"She stated that she had written it for them."

Based on the release date of the track, it seems that Del Rey had the intention to be included in Spectre, which was Daniel Craig's fourth portrayal of the sophisticated secret agent.

In the end, Sam Smith performed Spectre's theme and was rewarded with an Academy Award for Best Original Song for his work on "Writing's On the Wall".

Del Rey expressed her admiration towards Smith's work by stating that she did an excellent job. In a playful manner, Del Rey commented on how she will occasionally perform her signature style, reminiscent of Nancy Sinatra, and pretend it is the official theme song.

In the meantime, RAYE, a popular singer from the United Kingdom, won the most significant award of the night (Songwriter of the Year). She expressed her surprise that Del Rey's work had been turned down, as Del Rey had the ideal vibe for the project.

He started his speech by teasingly saying that unlike Bruce's performances, he intends to keep his remarks short and sweet.

Afterwards, he expressed that he couldn't come up with a better person to award the 2024 fellowship to, except for Bob Dylan perhaps.

"Or even Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Beyoncé, or Taylor Swift," he mentioned. "There are many more names to include."

Springsteen has become the inaugural global composer to be granted the Ivors Fellowship, marking it as the most prestigious award of the Ivors.

The fellowship has been awarded to notable people in the past such as Sir Elton John, Kate Bush, Joan Armatrading and Sir Paul who was actually the first artist to receive this award back in 2000.

Paul made a humorous remark that Springsteen had a reputation as a symbol of the American working class, but in reality, he has never actually engaged in manual labor.

McCartney and Springsteen share a strong bond as friends. In 2022, during the Glastonbury performance of the Beatles' iconic singer, the "Born to Run" star made an unexpected appearance on stage as a guest.

The complete record of those who have won the Ivors can be located at this location.
