Lana Del Rey reportedly marries alligator tour guide in Louisiana
Pop sensation Lana Del Rey has put an end to the rumors that have been circulating for weeks by allegedly tying the knot with her alligator tour guide partner, Jeremy Dufrene, in Louisiana.
On Monday, the couple requested a marriage license in Lafourche Parish, located in the southern part of Louisiana, near New Orleans.
The document showed that the celebrity used her official name, Elizabeth Woodridge Grant, as per records reviewed by the BBC.
Court documents indicate that the application was approved for a duration of one month and received the signature of a court clerk.
According to US media reports, Del Rey and Mr. Dufrene didn't take much time and got married on Thursday in Des Allemandes, Louisiana, close to the place where Mr. Dufrene is employed as a boat tour operator.
According to a source mentioned in People magazine on Friday, both the wedding ceremony and reception took place at the same bayou where Jeremy conducts his swamp boat tours.
Del Rey has not made any public statements regarding the rumored wedding.
The two first crossed paths in 2019 when the singer shared pictures from one of her tours on Facebook, captioning it: "Jeremy, let me take the helm at Arthur’s Air Boat Tours x."
The pair were seen together this summer at the Reading and Leeds festivals, where Del Rey performed as a headliner, as well as in London.
The 39-year-old artist rose to stardom in 2011 with her debut album, which shared her name, and its hit song "Video Games." Since then, she has developed a glamorous and intriguingly enigmatic persona while releasing a total of nine albums.
Her most recent work, Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, garnered predominantly favorable feedback and earned a nomination for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
Mr. Dufrene’s biography on Arthur’s Air Boat Tours’ website mentions that he was previously employed at a chemical manufacturing facility before realizing it wasn’t the right fit for him.
"With a bit of persuasion from his family, he obtained his captain's license and began offering tours."
Jeremy is an excellent airboat captain who enjoys engaging with both animals and guests.
