Happily gator after: Lana Del Rey marries Louisiana swamp tour guide
In a surprising twist, Grammy-nominated artist Lana Del Rey has tied the knot with a swamp tour guide from Louisiana.
The Daily Mail secured exclusive footage and images of 39-year-old Del Rey's wedding to Jeremy Dufrene, 49, which took place on Thursday in Des Allemands, Louisiana. This location is roughly a 45-minute drive southwest of New Orleans.
In the images and video shared by the Mail, the couple appears to be tying the knot in a scenic outdoor setting by the water in a quaint, unincorporated area. Del Rey was dressed elegantly in a white gown, while Dufrene looked sharp in a dark suit.
According to nola.com, a news source from New Orleans, Dufrene and the musician secured a marriage license from Lafourche Parish, which is the term Louisiana uses for county, just three days ahead of their wedding.
The couple tied the knot close to Airboat Tours, a business run by Arthur Matherne, where Dufrene guides tours through swamps inhabited by various wildlife, including alligators.
Dufrene and Del Rey were initially rumored to be in a relationship last August when they were seen holding hands at the Reading Festival in the UK, one of the largest music festivals in the country.
However, the two have been friends since at least 2019, when Del Rey shared a post about attending one of Dufrene’s wildlife tours. Earlier this May, Del Rey made a trip back to Louisiana for another swamp adventure and again mentioned Dufrene on Instagram. In June, she was spotted once more in the New Orleans area, creating quite a buzz among locals by stopping at the Tic-Toc Cafe, a 24-hour diner that isn't widely recognized by many tourists.
Del Rey is a globally recognized singer, celebrated for her popular songs such as "Video Game" and "Summertime Sadness." On the other hand, Air Boat Tours run by Arthur Matherne boasts a five-star rating on Yelp, supported by over 240 reviews.
