According to the Spanish publication La Vanguardia, the father of Spanish soccer prodigy Lamine Yamal, who is 17 years old, was taken to the hospital after being attacked with a knife close to Barcelona.

According to anonymous government sources, the article reported that Mounir Nasraoui was attacked with a knife several times.

La Vanguardia reported that Nasraoui was in critical yet steady condition.

La Vanguardia reported that a few individuals had been taken into custody, but did not provide specific information.

Spain emerged victorious in the European Championship held in July, with Yamal playing a crucial role in the winning team. He assisted Nico Williams in scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 victory against England. Additionally, Yamal was recognized for his outstanding performance by receiving the tournament's best young player award just one day after celebrating his 17th birthday.
