Kylie Minogue announces new album and biggest tour in a decade
Pop sensation Kylie Minogue has revealed plans for her largest world tour in over ten years, along with a follow-up to her return album, Tension.
Tension II features 13 songs, which are set to drop on October 18. The worldwide tour will begin in February in her native Australia and will later make stops in Asia and the UK.
In a recent announcement, the pop star expressed her overwhelming excitement about sharing the celebration of the Tension era and much more with her fans.
"There’s going to be a lot of Padaming," she remarked, referring to her hit single "Padam Padam" which won a Grammy in 2023 and went viral.
So far, twenty dates have been revealed, but Minogue mentioned that additional ones will be added soon.
At 56 years old, she is experiencing a revival in her career, thanks to the success of "Tension" and "Padam Padam."
In February, she received her second Grammy, two decades after her first. The next month, she was honored with the Global Icon Award at the Brits.
Since making her debut as the spirited car mechanic Charlene in the soap opera Neighbours in 1986, she has released numerous hit songs and amassed a collection of awards.
She has also showcased her talent at the Sydney Olympics, been honored with an OBE, and featured in multiple movies.
The tour and album have generated a lot of enthusiasm, but they've also brought a bit of pressure.
The concert schedule in Newcastle conflicts with Eurovision, which is taking place in Switzerland this May.
At the same time her performances in Sydney are taking place, the yearly Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade is happening, creating a tough choice for many of her fans in Australia. Minogue has a strong fanbase within the LGBT community.
"What actions should we take… On a Night Like This?!" remarked a commenter online.
