On Monday, Swedish news outlets announced that authorities are looking into a possible rape incident that reportedly occurred last Thursday at the hotel where Mbappe and his team were staying in downtown Stockholm.

Swedish police have not confirmed whether Mbappe or his team were part of, or even aware of, the reported incident at the hotel during his visit.

Mbappe, who departed from Sweden on a private jet last Friday, posted RMC Sport's take on the accusations from Sweden on his official X account, stating: 'False information!!!!'

“It’s become incredibly predictable. The day before the hearing, it just seems to happen by coincidence, doesn’t it?”

Mbappe added a winking emoji next to his comment.

The Real Madrid striker is currently involved in a disagreement with his previous club, PSG, regarding €55 million (£45.9m) that has not been paid in wages. Mbappe and representatives from PSG are set to appear before the Ligue de Football Professionnel’s (LFP) appeal committee on Tuesday to discuss the matter.

Before Tuesday's hearing, PSG criticized Mbappe's post on X. An insider from the club told the French newspaper L’Equipe, "To be honest, it's unfortunate. PSG is accountable for everything related to him."

"He didn't manage to score any goals for Madrid, except for penalties? Well, this is PSG we're talking about."

"He claims he missed the matches with the French national team, but he's not actually injured? It's all about PSG."

"PSG is now spreading rumors in Sweden. We'll choose to overlook it and maintain our composure."

In the meantime, Mbappe's representatives dismissed the reports from Sweden as "untrue and reckless" in a statement provided to AFP.

"Today, a fresh false rumor is beginning to circulate online, originating from the Swedish media outlet Aftonbladet," the announcement stated.

These claims are entirely untrue and careless, and it's unacceptable for them to be spread around.

To stop the ongoing efforts to damage Kylian Mbappe's reputation, we will take all necessary legal steps to restore the truth and hold accountable anyone involved in the harassment and slander he has been enduring.
