Kristina Joksimovic, who was 38 years old, was found in her elegant home in Binningen, close to Basel, a day after she passed away in February.

Later, her husband admitted to murdering his wife, saying it was done in 'self-defense.' He also claimed that he cut up her body in the laundry room after acting out of fear.

A chilling autopsy report revealed that multiple body parts had been mutilated with a hand blender, blended into a paste, and then dissolved in a chemical solution.

Devastated friends shared their sorrow after the mother of two was discovered. One friend told the local news outlet Blick, "To me, they appeared to be the ideal family."

A few months prior to her untimely passing, Ms. Joksimovic posted a picture of her small family, with the caption 'my everything'.

The most recent family photo posted on Instagram was from August 2023.

A court ruling reveals that the accused, along with her spouse, admitted to choking his wife.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the body had been cut up in the laundry room using a jigsaw, a knife, and garden shears, according to local news source Blick.

Her husband eventually admitted to murdering her, claiming it was in 'self-defense.' He stated that he dismembered her in the laundry room because he was overwhelmed with fear.

Friends were stunned by the news, with many turning to social media to share supportive messages on her Instagram posts.

"One of Kristina's friends shared with the local news site Blick that she appeared to have an ideal family. He mentioned that he last saw her in December, three months earlier. 'I'm really heartbroken,' he said."

Kristina's husband, Thomas*, had his request for release from detention denied on Wednesday by the Federal Court in Lausanne. The court stated that there were clear signs of mental illness involved in the case.

Christa Rigozzi, who won the title of Miss Switzerland in 2006, shared a heartfelt message online: "I'm at a loss for words and still feeling sad. Rest in peace, my dear."

"Words can't express my feelings. May you find peace in God's embrace," said Jastina Doreen Riederer, the 2018 champion.

According to local source BZ Basel, prosecutors allege that the accused choked his wife prior to her death.

"It's truly heartbreaking and surprising to see what has occurred. I feel deeply sorry for the kids," said Swiss model and former Miss Switzerland Dominique Rinderknecht in an interview with Nau.

As she prepared for the 2013 Miss Universe pageant, Rinderknecht underwent runway training with Kristina and documented their journey on YouTube, attracting 500,000 views.

Kristina, who hails from Binningen and has Serbian heritage, is said to have transitioned from a modeling career to that of a runway coach, motivating future talents in the industry.

Kristina, originally from Binningen and of Serbian heritage, participated in several beauty competitions during the 2000s.

Kristina was crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland and later became a finalist in the national competition in 2008.
