Family's relief as missing Lancashire man found in Tenerife

Kris Finney missing Tenerife

According to his family, a man who had been unaccounted for in Tenerife for four days has now been located.

Kris Finney, a 31-year-old from Edenfield in Lancashire, was last spotted on Thursday after arriving at the Spanish vacation island from Manchester Airport.

A shopkeeper discovered the father of three on Monday and offered him help after he found himself broke due to his phone malfunctioning.

His aunt, Debbie Kenyon, shared with the BBC, "We're incredibly relieved. We were really anxious."

She mentioned, "He said that his phone was damaged and he didn't have any money or means to reach us."

The electrician reached the island on Thursday morning and sent a message to his mother to let her know he was there. However, his family hasn't been able to get in touch with him since then.

He was supposed to hang out with his friends, but they were all staying in different places.

Mr. Finney had made a reservation at a hotel in Armeñime, located in the southern part of the island, but he was last spotted at the Playa de las Americas resort.

Ms. Kenyon, from Ramsbottom in Greater Manchester, mentioned: "I had a conversation with him, and he seemed quite tired and slightly worn out."

It seems that he had been lost or roaming about because his phone was broken, and all his cash and important information were stored on it.

She remarked, "It's a huge comfort to know he has been found. A female shop owner discovered him and offered him shelter."

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office had earlier stated that they were "providing assistance to the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Spain."
