Keylor Navas Nottingham Forest transfer sparks brilliant B&M ...

Keylor Navas

Nottingham Forest have had praise for their January business - from an unusual source.

The Reds completed the captures of three new players on deadline day with Jonjo Shelvey joining from Newcastle, Felipe signing from Atletico Madrid and goalkeeper Keylor Navas joining on loan from Paris Saint-Germain. It was the latter in particular that got people talking.

The Costa Rica international has previously won two Champions Leagues, but has been second choice at Parc de Princes this season. His arrival at Forest, as he searches for more game time, was announced on Tuesday night.

Forest were keen to bring in goalkeeping reinforcements in the January window after Dean Henderson picked up a thigh injury in last month’s 2-0 win over Leicester City. It is expected to rule the Manchester United loanee out for between four to five weeks.

After it looked like a deadline deal was not going to happen, Forest managed to get it over the line before Tuesday night’s 11pm deadline.

Navas has joined the Reds on loan until the end of the season. And the announcement of his arrival sparked a response from the retailer B&M stores on social media.

Replying to Forest’s confirmation of Navas’ arrival the company’s official Twitter account wrote: “And we thought we had the best bargains”.

The 36-year-old became the sixth new signing of the January transfer window for Steve Cooper ’s side. His arrival follows the captures of Gustavo Scarpa, Danilo, and Chris Wood.

The three deadline day signings could make their debuts for the club in the weekend’s Premier League match against Leeds United at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon.
