As supporters of Kenya, we see that Kenya's constitution grants the right to peaceful demonstrations. It is crucial for all individuals involved to honor, maintain, advocate for, and achieve the values of democracy and legal standards, especially by providing an appropriate level of security.

We are very worried about the violence we have seen in many areas of the country during the recent protests, especially the disturbing events outside the Kenyan Parliament. We are sad about the tragic deaths and injuries caused by live ammunition. We support the statement from Chief Justice Martha Koome and are troubled by reports of protestors being abducted.

We are happy to see Kenyan citizens, especially young people, getting involved in important public issues. We urge everyone to stay calm and ask all leaders to work together to find peaceful answers through positive conversations.

The following Embassies and High Commissions have released this announcement: United Kingdom, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Estonia, Sweden, Romania, United States of America.
