Formula One star Max Verstappen revealed on Friday that he and his girlfriend, Brazilian model Kelly Piquet, are going to be parents for the first time.

Verstappen announced the exciting news through an Instagram post, sharing a picture of himself with Piquet and the caption: "A little Verstappen-Piquet is on the way."

At just 27 years old, Verstappen is currently enjoying one of the most impressive streaks in Formula 1 history, having recently secured his fourth title in a row.

Even though there is just one race remaining in the 2024 F1 season, Verstappen's fifth-place result at last month's Las Vegas Grand Prix was sufficient to secure an unassailable lead in points.

The driver from the Netherlands and Belgium started his Formula 1 career with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2014, and then joined Red Bull Racing in 2016.

Verstappen secured his first victory with Red Bull in 2016, and since that time, he has consistently placed sixth or higher in the championship standings each year.

Following an impressive season where he triumphed in 19 races, Verstappen has added nine victories to his tally this year. He currently holds third place on the all-time wins leaderboard with 63, placing him behind only Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.

Verstappen will conclude another title-winning season this Sunday as he takes part in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
