Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has honored his younger brother Nick, who battled cancer, following his passing on Boxing Day at the age of 60.

"In a statement, Starmer expressed, 'My brother Nick was an amazing person.'"

He faced every obstacle that came his way with bravery and a positive attitude. We will miss him deeply.

It is believed that Starmer had intended to take a vacation, but he has decided to remain instead.

"I want to express my gratitude to everyone who cared for and supported Nick," Starmer mentioned.

"We deeply value their expertise and kindness."

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch extended her sympathies to the leader of the Labour Party.

"This news is truly terrible. It's especially heartbreaking during the Christmas season," she posted on X.

Nick Starmer faced challenges due to learning disabilities caused by complications at birth, which made it difficult for him to maintain a consistent job.

In a biography released this year, Keir Starmer shared insights about his bond with his brother and the challenges he encountered during his early years.

"I don't think he ever took any exams, so he didn’t have anything to prove from his education," Starmer shared with writer Tom Baldwin. He mentioned that his brother faced bullying and was frequently labeled as "dumb" or "foolish" by other students.

"Nick has faced a completely different set of challenges than I have, and he has dealt with difficulties throughout his life that I have never encountered," Starmer mentioned.

During his address to the Labour Party conference in September, he mentioned that their father frequently reminded him, "Your brother has accomplished just as much as you, Keir."
