Sir Keir Starmer meets the public. Sort of

Keir Starmer

It's been two days since the election was announced and Sir Keir Starmer, leader of the Labour Party, is currently campaigning. Sir Keir enjoys connecting with people in an organic way by meeting them where they are at. When he visited Ipswich, he went to play bingo to converse with people, and in Blackpool, he strolled on the beach and pier to interact with them. Today, he's stopping by a builders' supplier in Lancashire. According to election experts, there are people in Islington's Waitrose supermarket, but Sir Keir doesn't seem to find it necessary to meet those people.

In Lancashire, there is a clean forklift truck waiting on the pavement for Sir Keir to meet its operator who just happens to be nearby. If the driver were busy, Sir Keir would have to track him down according to one of his co-workers. Sir Keir's objective is not only to connect with individuals "where they are," but also to have them remain there for a picture opportunity.
