TV host Kaye Adams has chosen to leave urban living behind in favor of the rural charm of Stirlingshire on the show Escape to the Country.

The Loose Women host made an appearance on a special celebrity version of the BBC show on Thursday night.

Accompanied by host Jules Hudson and her close friend Karen McKenzie, Kaye was looking to simplify her life after living in Glasgow for three decades.

At 61, Kaye was searching for a three-bedroom home that featured an open layout, a garden, and enough room for her to record her podcast.

She set a budget of £850,000 to help her find the perfect house to enjoy with her husband, Ian.

Kinlochard: Kaye Adams’ First Stop In Stirlingshire

The first destination for the three of them was Aros, located in Kinlochard, close to Aberfoyle.

The old schoolhouse from the 1870s features a separate two-story garage and a studio addition.

Equipped with a geothermal heat pump and solar panels, this home features three bedrooms and is situated on half an acre of land.

Kaye found the house stunning and praised its beauty.

She mentioned, "The sizes of the rooms are beautiful. In my home, you could say the spaces are a bit too large. With just the two of you relaxing there in the evening, it feels a little strange."

The house was listed for bids starting at £700,000.

Kaye expressed, "I'd love to live here if I had the chance; it's hard to feel stressed in this stunning place."

After checking out the property, Jules inquired with Kaye about her reasons for leaving Glasgow.

She mentioned, "I've identified as a city dweller for a long time. But when you really examine it, it’s not as intimidating as it seems."

"As I age, I strive not to become someone who is set in their ways and unwilling to embrace new opportunities or explore different options."

Buchlyvie Shines On Escape To The Country

The next location we explored was Dippin Lodge in Buchlyvie.

The £750,000 property, constructed in 1992, is located on the historic grounds of an old threshing barn.

Kaye loved the home's cabin-like atmosphere and mentioned that it didn’t feel like a step down.

Nonetheless, she thought the house was too large and better suited for a younger family.

The third property was situated in Burnside, Ruskie.

More than 300 years old and equipped with solar panels, the home features six bedrooms spread out over three levels.

Kaye admired the house's appearance, describing it as 'nearly flawless.'

She pondered: "Am I looking for a smaller home, or do I just want a new environment?"

In the end, she concluded that the £770,000 house close to Thornhill was simply too spacious for her needs.

Aberfoyle's Mystery Captivates Loose Women Host

The program features a mysterious house that participants can explore.

For Kaye, the property was just a short drive away from Aberfoyle.

Constructed in 1890, Kaye described the seven-bedroom house on Trossachs Road as "comfortable and pleasant," and she was taken aback by the two acres of land that enveloped it.

She expected the price to be around £900,000, so she was surprised to find out it was on the market for offers starting at £635,000.

Which House Did Kaye Select?

As she considered her next steps, Kaye remarked, "I have so many questions racing through my mind."

"How eager am I to simplify my living situation? Is this upcoming change going to be my permanent home, or do I still have other journeys ahead of me?"

When Jules inquired about which house she would be picking up the keys for, she responded, "I actually have the answer to that."

"It's located at the upper end of Loch Ard."

"I found the house to be truly stunning, and it has made me realize that this is the kind of property size I’m interested in."

"If you're planning to retreat to the countryside, you might as well have a breathtaking view that will make you wake up feeling amazed."

The Kinlochard property is currently marked as under offer on the Savills website.

You can catch Kaye Adams' episode of Escape to the Country on BBC's iPlayer platform.
