During CBS Sports' coverage of the Champions League, presenter Kate Abdo revealed that she used to be employed by Greggs, the famous bakery. This admission resulted in amusing comments from pundits Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.
Abdo was the presenter near the field before Newcastle's initial match in their own stadium for the Champions League in 20 years. In this game, the Magpies played against the reigning French champions, PSG.
During a conversation with another journalist named Anita Jones, the topic changed from football to something else. Jones pointed out that in addition to football, the people of Newcastle also have a great love for a certain bakery called Greggs.
Jones disclosed that she was distributing merchandise from the UK-based bakery franchise to supporters on their way to St James' Park for the game.
Carragher made a humorous comment about Jones, comparing her to the most stylish person he's seen selling food at Greggs.
During CBS Sports' coverage, Kate Abdo shared a funny anecdote about her past job experience. She disclosed that she was previously employed by the popular bakery franchise, Greggs.
Abdo protested against the mock-up of the Greggs uniform, stating that her chest has never been that large.
Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards, who are experts in CBS Sports, couldn't contain their laughter when it came to Abdos.
Abdo said, "Jamie, I'm not sure about that. Did you know that even I used to work for Greggs?"
Carragher was surprised when he heard that you had worked at Greggs.
Abdo expressed that during his first job, he was not adorned in as much Louis Vuitton attire as he is now.
After that, someone created a fake picture of Abdo dressed in a regular Greggs outfit. This caused Carragher and Richards to laugh, but the host had a problem with it.
Abdo stated that her breasts have never been considerably large.
"That's because you had devoured all the pastries," Carragher retorted.
After the funny conversation, Jones distributed sausage rolls from Greggs to the CBS team members on the field, and then gave Abdo an apron from the company.
Carragher questioned Abdo about why she had quit her job at Greggs, to which she revealed that she had actually been let go. Abdo claimed that her termination was due to her getting a tongue piercing, which hindered her ability to communicate with customers.
During the broadcasting of Newcastle's game against PSG, Abdo had an exchange with his colleagues at CBS.
Newcastle achieved a 4-1 victory against the champions of France, which helped them ascend to the first place in their group.
The trade happened before Newcastle's amazing 4-1 victory against PSG in the Champions League.
After the game, Dan Burn, who scored a goal for Newcastle, joined the CBS team and celebrated the victory by dancing with Carragher and Richards.
The Magpies emerged victorious and clinched the top spot in their Champions League group under the leadership of Eddie Howe. They managed to accumulate four points from two matches to secure their position.
PSG are currently in second place in their group, only three points behind the leaders. AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are not far behind and will need to work hard to catch up in what is known as the "Group of Death".
