With only ten players on the field, Juventus shocked the home team, RB Leipzig, by battling back from behind twice to secure a 3-2 victory on Wednesday. Francisco Conceição scored the decisive goal in the 83rd minute, leading Juventus to their second consecutive win in the Champions League.
Dusan Vlahovic managed to equalize for his team on two occasions after Leipzig's forward Benjamin Sesko scored two goals for the home side.
The Serie A team had a terrible beginning when they faced two injuries early on. In the sixth minute, captain Gleison Bremer had to be substituted after a collision with Loïs Openda, and Nicolas Gonzalez also had to leave the field due to injury.
After losing their first match in the league against Atlético Madrid, Leipzig quickly responded when Nicolo Fagioli's attempt was saved by their goalkeeper, Peter Gulasci.
During a brief pause in play, Openda located Sesko in the penalty area, and the Slovenian striker, who had also found the net against Atlético, struck the ball powerfully off the crossbar, scoring a goal in the 30th minute.
Juventus, who secured a 3-1 victory against PSV Eindhoven in their opening match, responded quickly after halftime. Just five minutes into the second half, Vlahovic deftly redirected Andrea Cambiaso's low cross into the net. This came right after Teun Koopmeiners had nearly scored for the visiting team, hitting the post.
In the second half, Leipzig had two shots that hit the crossbar, both coming from Openda. They regained the lead when Sesko skillfully converted a penalty in the 65th minute.
Juve, who were down to 10 players after goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio received a red card for a handball outside the penalty area on the hour mark, managed to equalize again thanks to Vlahovic's impressive left-footed shot that curled into the top corner of the net.
Conceicao capped off their comeback with an impressive dash into the penalty area and a skillful finish.
