Authorities have reported that Justin Timberlake was apprehended in the Hamptons for being under the influence while operating a vehicle.
According to reports, the famous artist who has won 10 Grammy awards and is 43 years old, was reportedly taken into custody on Monday night in Sag Harbor, Long Island, an affluent area known for being frequented by famous people during the summer.
Timberlake, who achieved stardom as a Disney Mouseketeer before emerging as one of the most prominent music artists of the 1990s and 2000s, is scheduled to make a court appearance on Tuesday.
Newsday was informed by a representative of the police force that Timberlake had been arrested. A source from the Sag Harbor Justice Court also informed the media outlet that the accusations against Timberlake are related to driving under the influence.
We don't know why he was arrested yet, but it happened during Justin Timberlake's Forget Tomorrow World Tour. He was supposed to perform two concerts at the United Center in Chicago on June 21 and 22, then two more shows at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Earlier this week, he garnered attention for interrupting a performance to aid a supporter who was experiencing a medical emergency.
The person in the recording requested for help from the attendants, stating that there was a problem in the fifth row. They also thanked everyone while requesting for assistance.
"Everything's fine," he continued speaking, after it appeared that the fan had responded to him.
Timberlake was taken into custody shortly after putting out his latest album, Everything I Thought I Was. This was his first release in six years but unfortunately, the critics didn't take kindly to it. The Independent gave it a scathing two-star review, comparing it to a dirty mattress and expressing their complete lack of excitement.
Timberlake's position as a popular global pop star has decreased in recent times, particularly after Britney Spears revealed some facts about their relationship and subsequent breakup in her memoir, The Woman in Me.
The duo initially crossed paths when they were young actors on the Disney Channel. Later on, Spears achieved success with chart-toppers like "Hit Me Baby (One More Time)" and "Oops!... I Did It Again."
On the other hand, Timberlake became a member of the widely admired boy group NYSNC and afterward started his thriving individual profession. He also engaged in acting and received recognition for his appearances in hit movies like The Social Network and the romantic comedy Friends With Benefits.
During a live performance in February, Timberlake made a statement that caught people's attention. He said that he had no intention of apologizing to anyone, not even one person. This came just a few days after Spears shared that she was sorry for revealing certain things in her book.
When Timberlake's new song called "Selfish" came out in March, followers of Spears started listening to her track with the same name from 2011. This caused Spears' song to outsell Timberlake's during the first seven days after the release.
Timberlake tied the knot with famous Hollywood star Jessica Biel in 2012 and they together have two kids.
