Shapiro faces inquiries about potentially becoming Harris' running mate.

Governor Josh Shapiro reiterated his endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris in Neville Island, Pennsylvania. However, he declined to comment on the possibility of becoming her running mate if she were to secure the Democratic nomination.

The governor of Pennsylvania visited Pittsburgh on Monday to team up with the leader of the Environmental Protection Agency. They discussed the significant investments that will be made in Pennsylvania to boost manufacturing and decrease pollution.

During the event on Monday, Shapiro mentioned that he had a conversation with Harris over the phone the day before, where they discussed her presidential campaign. Shapiro expressed his complete endorsement for her candidacy and stated that their conversation primarily centered around the goal of defeating former President Donald Trump.

However, Shapiro mentioned that Harris' choice of a running mate is very personal to her. Therefore, he supports her making this decision without any political influence.

"I am completely focused on defeating Donald Trump," Shapiro stated. "During his time as president, I served as attorney general. I had to take legal action against him several times and, I must say, I emerged victorious each time. It was essential for me to fight for our right to vote, women's reproductive rights, and the rights of workers to join a union. We cannot afford to return to those times."

Shapiro mentioned that he has been acquainted with Vice President Harris for over two decades, as they both have a background in law.

A recent survey conducted by Quinnipiac revealed that Shapiro has a high approval rating of 60 percent. Additionally, he broke a record by receiving the highest number of votes ever for a governor candidate in Pennsylvania.
