Jordan North will be making a switch to Capital following a decade-long tenure at Radio 1.
Capital Radio has chosen Jordan North to take over as the new host of their breakfast show, succeeding Roman Kemp.
Last week, he departed from Radio 1. On Monday, Roman made it clear that he will be quitting his job at Capital by 28th of March.
The well-known personality from Made in Chelsea, Jamie Laing, who has previously presented on the BBC, is scheduled to become the new host of Jordan's afternoon show starting on the 4th of March.
Jordan expressed extreme enthusiasm upon hearing the announcement on air that he will be commencing work at the rival station.
"I have always dreamt of hosting Capital Breakfast, and having the chance to do so is a unique opportunity that I couldn't say no to," he expresses.
In April, he will commence co-hosting with Chris Stark and Sian Welby. Capital verified that he will also be the host of the Summertime Ball event in June.
Jamie Laing expressed his enthusiasm for commencing his work on Radio 1's drivetime show.
Jordan's final broadcast on Radio 1, named Going Home and accompanied by Vick Hope as co-host, was broadcasted on the date of February 15th. His subsequent departure from the show was announced soon after on the following day.
On Instagram, the man expressed gratitude towards his producers, co-hosts, and followers while also giving a special acknowledgment to his "partner in crime" Vick. He mentioned how he'll miss being on the air alongside him every day.
Jordan has been hosting the drivetime program since the year 2021 and has been an employee of Radio 1 for a decade.
According to Jamie, assuming control is a "perfect fantasy."
Before, he appeared on the station while Mollie King was on maternity leave and also teamed up with Jamie and Spencer to co-host the Radio 1 podcast called 6 Degrees.
He expressed his immense enthusiasm to commence and accompany the listeners on their way back home.
Roman conveyed a sentimental message to his audience, declaring his resignation from the breakfast show on Capital.
"I have a deep fondness for this location - the station holds a special place in my heart, and I am immensely grateful for the bond that you, the listener, and I have formed," they expressed.
In 2017, Roman began hosting the breakfast show alongside Chris Stark and Sian Welby. The show is listened to by almost 8 million people every week.
Next month's Brit Awards will be hosted by him together with Maya Jama and Clara Amfo.
Jordan is also one of the co-hosts of the Help I Sexted My Boss podcast alongside William Hanson. Additionally, he participated in the 2020 season of the popular TV show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and ended up coming in second place.
