Jordan North rescued from River Thames after saving dog

Check it out: Jordan North saved from the River Thames by the RNLI.

Capital FM host Jordan North was saved from the River Thames after he jumped in to help a dog that was having trouble in the water.

The RNLI reported that North was out for a jog when he noticed the Labrador in the water close to Hammersmith Bridge in west London on Monday at 5:05 PM GMT.

A member of the community notified the authorities, and the lifeboat team from Chiswick RNLI discovered the DJ sitting on a nearby float with his dog. Bystanders used their phone flashlights to assist the RNLI in finding him.

North expressed his gratitude during his breakfast show, saying, "I want to extend a huge thank you and a heartfelt shout out to RNLI Chiswick for coming to my rescue when I was starting to feel a bit anxious."

The 34-year-old ex-Radio 1 host from Burnley mentioned, "I was starting to feel anxious because I thought my legs would give out on me, and I wouldn't be able to keep going for much longer, but they arrived right when I needed them."

"The true champions in this situation are the RNLI. They came to my rescue, wrapped me up in a blanket, and showed incredible support. They are the real heroes."

Gavin Simmons, the commander of the RNLI Thames, stated, "We are available around the clock, every day of the year, to assist anyone who encounters trouble on the water, including our cherished pets."

"We always recommend that individuals call 999 and request the Coastguard rather than attempting to enter the water on their own. However, we're pleased that, in this case, we were able to assist Jordan and the dog in returning safely to shore."
