Tributes to Irish comedian Jon Kenny who starred in Father Ted

The Taoiseach has honored the memory of Irish writer, comedian, and actor Jon Kenny after his passing.

He gained widespread recognition for his performances alongside Pat Shortt in the comedic pair known as D'Unbelievables.

The 66-year-old had been undergoing treatment for both cancer and heart issues.

The star from County Limerick had an impressive list of film and television roles throughout his career. Notable appearances include popular shows and films like Father Ted, The Van, Les Misérables (1998), Angela's Ashes, and The Banshees of Inisherin, where he worked alongside Pat Shortt once again.

Taoiseach Simon Harris remarked that Jon delivered some "remarkable and powerful performances" both in theater and on film.

Jon was a fascinating and reflective individual, known for delivering remarkable performances both in theater and on film. The entire nation is still laughing fondly at the brilliance of D'Unbelievables.

Kenny was also a highly regarded singer, poet, and solo comedian.

In a heartfelt tribute, Deputy Prime Minister Micheál Martin referred to Kenny as "one of our most legendary performers and comedians."

Mr. Martin expressed his profound sorrow over the loss of Jon Kenny in a statement.

Through the D'Unbelievables and his performances on stage and in film, Jon brought joy to our lives. He was truly a natural entertainer.
