Elon Musk and Joe Rogan called Operation Warp Speed a "wild psychological operation" during a rants they shared the night before the election.
However, it turns out that the main Covid vaccine initiative was actually implemented by Donald Trump.
On the evening before the election, Rogan, who supported the Republican presidential candidate that day, welcomed Trump supporter Musk on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. The two engaged in a conversation that lasted nearly three hours.
They started talking about Covid and the distribution of vaccines, a program initiated during Trump's presidency that the former president described as “a remarkable achievement.”
“It was absolutely wild,” Rogan commented, discussing Operation Warp Speed. “And everyone just went along with it.”
"Next level of Looney Tunes," Musk responded.
“The psychological operation was intriguing to observe as people began to queue up,” Rogan remarked.
Musk responded, "That's probably one of the most significant psychological operations ever."
"Absolutely," Rogan nodded in agreement.
The collaboration between the government and drug manufacturers that accelerated the development of the Covid vaccine is widely regarded as one of the biggest successes of Trump’s presidency.
At a summit in 2020, Trump referred to the accomplishment as a "landmark" success. He explained that it typically requires five, six, seven years, or even longer to reach such a goal. "To make this happen, we utilized the complete strength of the government, the brilliance of American scientists, and the capabilities of American industry to help save millions of lives globally," he stated.
Rogan, who is skeptical about vaccines, has had disagreements with prominent medical professionals regarding the vaccination process and has faced criticism for allegedly spreading false information about vaccines.
Musk has referred to himself as someone who supports vaccines, yet he noted that there was an overwhelming reaction to vaccination during the Covid pandemic. He also highlighted some “serious side effects” that he asserts he experienced after getting the vaccine.
Another outspoken opponent of Operation Warp Speed is Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom Trump has mentioned as someone who would play a significant part in his administration, despite his strong stance against vaccinations.
Trump recently stated that he would allow RFK Jr to have complete freedom to pursue any initiatives related to health, food, and medicine during a possible second term in office.
Dasha Burns from NBC News inquired over the weekend if Trump believed RFK Jr. would prohibit any vaccines, even though the World Health Organization estimates that vaccination efforts worldwide have saved at least 154 million lives in the last five decades.
Trump dodged providing a clear response on the issue, stating, “I plan to discuss this with him and others before reaching a conclusion. He’s quite skilled and holds strong opinions.”
On Monday, Rogan chose to support Trump, explaining that Musk presented a convincing case for giving Trump another four years in office.
"The remarkable and influential Elon Musk. Without him, things would be in a dire state. He presents, in my opinion, one of the strongest arguments for Trump that you’ll come across, and I find myself in complete agreement with him," Rogan expressed on Musk's platform, X.
Musk has emerged as a key player in Trump's latest presidential campaign, supporting the former president shortly after the initial assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. Two months later, he appeared alongside Trump on stage at the same location.
The billionaire has set up the pro-Trump America PAC and has contributed over $132 million to support Trump and conservative candidates in congressional elections this year, according to federal records.
