President Joe Biden is about to experience being a great-grandfather for the first time, as his granddaughter Naomi announced that she is expecting a baby on the night of the election.
On Tuesday, the 30-year-old politician shared some exciting news by posting a selfie on her Instagram story, just after the voting ended in Washington DC.
Naomi, the oldest daughter of Hunter Biden, the president's 54-year-old son, and his former wife Kathleen Buhle, wore a black poncho and matching leggings with an "I Voted" sticker on them in the post.
Displaying her growing belly, she wrote in the caption: “(we) cast our votes,” accompanied by an American flag emoji and a smiley face turned upside down.
It's uncertain how advanced Naomi's pregnancy is.
Naomi got married to 27-year-old Peter Neal in a grand ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House in November 2022.
The President, First Lady Jill Biden, their son Hunter along with his wife Melissa, and his sisters Finnegan and Maisy were all present for the important occasion.
This was the first wedding to take place on the White House property since Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton, tied the knot with Marc Mezvinsky in July 2010.
In June, Naomi testified at her father’s trial regarding gun charges in Wilmington, Delaware. She told the court that “everything went downhill after my uncle passed away,” referring to the loss of her uncle, Beau Biden, who died from brain cancer in 2015.
Naomi also shared that she went to see Hunter while he was in a rehabilitation center in Los Angeles in 2018, and during that visit, she introduced him to Neal.
In July, when her grandfather decided to drop out of his re-election bid, allowing Vice President Kamala Harris to take the lead for the Democratic nomination, Naomi promptly expressed her backing for her "Pop."
"Today, I feel an immense sense of pride for my Pop, our President, Joe Biden, who has dedicated himself wholeheartedly to serving our nation with exceptional excellence," she posted on X on July 21.
"Our world has improved in countless ways because of him. To the Americans who have consistently supported him, stay hopeful. He will always have our support."
