JLS pay tribute to dancer ‘Captain’ Jack, who supported them in early shows

JLS have shown their respect to a former member of their dance crew who was present during the group's early days and has now passed away.

"Captain Jack," also known as Jack Nathaniel Pointer-Mackenzie, was a member of the supporting team for the pop group during their initial years in the music industry.

After that, he proceeded to instruct at the dance studio, Base, located in London. Furthermore, he showcased his talents alongside numerous other musicians.

The social media account for the band posted a sorrowful message on their Instagram page on Monday (2 October), expressing their condolences for Pointer-Mackenzie after he passed away at the age of 35.

Base Dance Studios posted a tribute to a dancer named Captain Jack on their social media account. They mentioned that he was a member of JLS and had been with them from the very beginning. They also expressed their condolences by saying "Rest in Peace."

The opening sentence of the blog section says, "A special present that will be deeply longed for," followed by the dance studio's first message. "We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to witness your astounding skills."

A member of the singing group, Aston Merrygold, recounted his personal recollections of Pointer-Mackenzie through his Instagram Stories.

One of the articles contained a clip of the musical group playing, with Captain Jack lending assistance in the background.

Merrygold expressed that Captain Jack always has a positive energy that dates back to 2009 and even to the present time. He also added that Captain Jack is an exceptional member of the team.

Additional individuals who were familiar with the performer expressed their reactions on various online platforms.

Someone wrote a message that started with the words "Not Jack". They mentioned that they hadn't seen him for many years, but they remembered him as a kindhearted person with a great energy that left a lasting impression. The writer was saddened by the news of his passing and wished him peace in the afterlife.

Another statement expressed condolences: "A major loss for the community. Sending love to those closest to him. Rest in peace Jack." In a different post, an individual commemorated Captain Jack as "the most authentic, kindest, and skilled person."

According to a website devoted to honoring Pointer-Mackenzie, her funeral occurred on the second of October.

In addition to showcasing his skills alongside JLS, Captain Jack collaborated with other notable performers such as Camila Cabello, Justin Bieber, and Hozier.

JLS gained public attention when they participated in The X Factor in 2008 and were placed in second position behind Alexandra Burke.

After achieving five UK Number 1 singles, the group disbanded in 2013 and then reunited in 2020.
