Aston Merrygold pays tribute to 'original JLS member' who has died at the age of just 35

Aston Merrygold has shown respect to a former member of JLS who passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 35 and was commemorated with a funeral on Monday.

The artist, who is 35 years old, turned to Instagram to express sincere condolences following the sudden death of Jack Pointer Mackenzie, one of her backup dancers.

It is still unclear what caused his death.

The gifted dancer accompanied the popular music band throughout their journey from 2009 until 2021, following their rise to stardom on the X Factor.

Aston, who shared the news that he and his wife Sarah Louise are anticipating their third child, wrote a tribute saying "Rest in peace captain. Former JLS team member!"

He wrote: 'Captain Jack forever carrying the energy from 2009 and beyond!!

Members of the band JLS - Marvin Humes, Ortise Williams, and JB Gill - expressed their condolences via their Instagram account.

Posting the same message, it stated: 'Rest in peace Captain Jack... an original JLS dancer.'

Sarah, who is Aston's spouse, posted a message on her Instagram in honor of Jack. Her words were, "Soar peacefully, Jack."

Throughout his career, Jack has collaborated with many high-profile celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello, and Hozier.

Prior to Jack's professional success with JLS, he made appearances on various popular TV programs, including X Factor, Alan Carr, and The Graham Norton Show.

On Tuesday, one of Jack's intimate friends who also traveled with JLS expressed their grief on Instagram after receiving the sad news of his demise.

Anthony expressed that he bid farewell to a close friend, who left the world too soon - Jack 'the Captain' Pointer Mackenzie.

When I look back on the times when I was on tour with JLS, as well as the moments when he served as my official wedding photographer, my mind always goes straight to his contagious laughter, his artistic and expressive way of communicating (through words and dance), and his superb taste in music. The valuable music recommendations he provided me with have influenced my playlists for countless years.

A person expressed that they hadn't seen Jack in a long time, but remembered him as a wonderful and joyful person. They were in disbelief about his passing and wished for him to rest peacefully.

Aston has shared some unfortunate news following his announcement last week that he is expecting a child with his partner Sarah. Aston and Sarah are already parents to their two sons, Grayson who is five years old, and Macaulay who is three years old.

The vocalist utilized social media to post a touching video sequence that depicts Grayson and Macaulay's realization that they will become siblings, along with visuals of their pre-natal scan and affirmative pregnancy exam.

The video showcased the boys giving a peck to a photo of an ultrasound and subsequently celebrating the delightful news with their mother and father. The parents tied the knot in September of last year, just before this exciting announcement.
