In the future, we may refer to the political tactic of making honest efforts to shift the focus and mend the harm caused to Joe Biden during the first presidential debate. In addition to this, we should also take note of the outfit worn by Jill Biden as she stood by her husband during his rally in Raleigh, N.C.

President Biden tried to talk about his age and energy issues on Friday. He was joined by his wife, who usually dresses in a way that does not attract attention. She wore a navy blue dress with the word "Vote" repeated all over it.

With the numerous articles written after the debate highlighting how viewers were worried about Mr. Biden's unsteady performance, it's clear that this was not just a coincidence.

Dr. Biden typically prefers to wear clothing from designers she likes, rather than using her outfits to make a statement. So when she chooses to wear a dress that stands out, it's worth noting. This choice is even more significant during a time when any positive attention is welcomed.

In the end, it was clear that everyone would be watching the president closely at his first rally since the debate, to see if his poor performance would continue. The photos from the rally would be shared widely, and every aspect of his appearance, including his wife's outfit, would be analyzed by both the general public and political experts. Many have been urging Mr. Biden to resign, and they believe his wife could play a key role in influencing his decision.

He could have been giving a speech, but that dress made a strong statement.

The blog featured Christian Siriano, a fashion designer known for his inclusive style and famous for designing the blue dress Michelle Obama wore at the 2016 Democratic convention. In an email, Mr. Siriano mentioned that the first lady's team contacted him about a month ago to ask for a new version of the "vote" dress he had designed for his spring 2021 collection.

Rebecca Feinglos, the creator of @grieveleave, a platform for supporting people dealing with grief, shared that she met Dr. Biden a few months ago while wearing an original Siriano dress with the word “vote” on it. During the event, the first lady asked her about the dress, and Feinglos was thrilled to share its backstory with her.

Mr. Siriano explained that when Dr. Biden's team reached out to him, he designed a silhouette that was both timeless and contemporary, and he hoped it would be elegant for the occasion.

He said, "I believe we all understood after the initial debate that it would be a crucial one that could communicate a message globally."

This is the third occasion in the past four years that Dr. Biden has been seen wearing clothing with a message displayed on it.

In 2020, prior to the previous presidential election, Dr. Biden sported a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots that had the word "vote" printed on them. Then in 2021, during the first Group of 7 meeting in Britain since the president was inaugurated, she donned a jacket with "love" written on the back. Many people saw this as a response to the controversial jacket Melania Trump wore during her husband's time in office, which had the words "I Really Don't Care, Do U?" on it.

The rivalry is back, and with it comes phrases on attire. It's not surprising at all. Dr. Biden teaches English, so she understands the importance of concise language, even when it's on a piece of clothing.
