KAOS' Jeff Goldblum and Janet McTeer reveal unusual way they prepared for filming

Janet McTeer shared that she sang musical songs to Jeff Goldblum to help him stay concentrated during breaks while filming KAOS.

The actors portray Zeus and Hera, the rulers of the gods, in the highly anticipated upcoming Netflix show. This modern adaptation of the Greek legends follows Zeus and the other Olympian gods as they struggle to maintain power over humanity.

McTeer and Goldblum were guests on The One Show on Tuesday (27 August), where they were asked about rumors that McTeer would serenade the Jurassic Park star before filming began.

"We had a piano on our set and sometimes, he would play it. He's a fantastic pianist and when he started playing, everyone would pause and listen." replied McTeer.

Some may assume he was distracted, but that wasn't the case. Jeff and I both work hard and are well-prepared. We know our lines and are old-fashioned in our approach. However, there are always distractions and chaos happening around us, which can make it difficult to focus. That's when we just decide to sing and enjoy ourselves.

Goldblum added: "Sometimes I feel like you are so ready that you don't want to worry in those final moments before the director says 'Action'. You want to embrace a sense of exploration and spontaneity instead."

Both actors then began to sing, while Goldblum described the experience: "It really affects you, and then... 'Action'."

Goldblum also talked about his role in the upcoming film adaptation of the popular stage musical Wicked, which tells the story of two witches. In the movie, he portrays the Wizard alongside singer Ariana Grande as Glinda and actress Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba.

The famous actor confessed that he had a fear of witches in reality after a scary dream from his childhood where a witch tied him to a tree stump. "I thought she was going to chop off my head," he shared with the hosts laughing along. "But instead, she started chanting 'peaches, peaches' and that also scared me."

However, it appears that any fears were dispelled when it came to the movie and Grande and Erivo's acting, as Goldblum noted: "I wasn't really scared, I was deeply touched and motivated."

Fans loved hearing Goldblum's stories on The One Show couch, with one fan commenting on Twitter that the actor was "awesome". Another person said, "Jeff Goldblum is one of the best people in my book."

KAOS will be available for streaming on Netflix starting Thursday, August 29th.
