A male individual has been released on bail in relation to the passing of a grandmother following a dog assault.
On Saturday afternoon, a tragic incident occurred in Jaywick, a town near Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. Esther Martin, a 68-year-old individual, sustained fatal injuries inside a residential property.
A man aged 39 was taken into custody with the suspicion of committing crimes related to possessing a dangerous dog. He has been granted conditional police bail until March.
According to her family, Ms Martin was paying a visit to her 11-year-old grandson during that particular time.
According to the Essex Police, the belief of the officers is that there were two dogs responsible for attacking Ms Martin inside a residence located on Hillman Avenue in the coastal village.
Observation: The child of the person who suffered mentioned that the individuals living nearby in the coastal town attempted to provide their assistance.
On Sunday, the BBC spoke to Ms Martin's daughter who stated that she thought the dogs were XL bully dogs, which are forbidden. However, the police have explained that they will need a few days to verify the breed of the dogs.
47-year-old Sonia Martin revealed that her mother, residing in Woodford Green in the northeast region of London, was advised by the owner of the dogs to use a broom to aid in stopping a scuffle between puppies. However, it is believed that it was during this intervention that the mother was assaulted.
Detective Superintendent Stuart Truss stated, "We're making significant headway in our inquiry into Esther's passing."
We are committed to providing Esther's family with the information they require despite the various challenges that come with this investigation.
