Rapper Jay-Z has been accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl following the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000, allegedly in connection with Sean "Diddy" Combs.

The person making the accusation, referred to as "Jane Doe", stated that the incident took place during an after-party.

A federal lawsuit that initially included only Combs was refiled on Sunday in New York to include Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter.

As reported by NBC News, which collaborates with Sky for US news, the lawsuit states that Doe arrived at the VMAs at Radio City Music Hall thanks to a friend. Since she didn't have a ticket, she attempted to talk to several limousine drivers in hopes of getting into the event or its after party.

According to the lawsuit, one driver claimed to Doe that he was employed by Combs and suggested that she was exactly what Diddy wanted. The driver then picked her up, and after a 20-minute ride, he took her to a white house that had a u-shaped driveway. Upon arrival, she was asked to sign a document that she thought was a non-disclosure agreement.

It was claimed that she was given a beverage that caused her to feel dizzy, faint, and as though she needed to rest.

Not long after, the lawsuit claims, both P Diddy and Jay-Z walked into the room, with P Diddy saying to her, "You’re all set to have a good time!"

According to her account, that's when Carter took off her clothes, pinned her down, and assaulted her, with Combs and another female celebrity observing. She also claims that Combs raped her while Carter and the woman watched.

Following the attack, she quickly took her clothes and rushed to the closest gas station, where she contacted her dad.

She is pursuing an undisclosed amount of compensation.

"These accusations are extremely serious, and I urge you to pursue a criminal complaint instead of a civil one! Anyone who would commit such an offense against a child deserves to be imprisoned, don’t you think?" Jay-Z stated in an interview with NBC News.

"If that were true, these supposed victims would truly deserve genuine justice."

He voiced his disapproval of the attorney, Tony Buzbee, who initiated the lawsuit: "I feel for the genuine victims out there, having to see their experiences turned into a spectacle for profit by this opportunistic lawyer in an inexpensive suit."

Mr. Buzbee, who is located in Texas, informed Sky News, "The statement really conveys everything. This is a significant issue that will be handled in court."

Combs, who has won three Grammy Awards and is regarded as a major figure in hip-hop production over the last thirty years, is currently dealing with multiple lawsuits from women alleging sexual assault against him.

Combs' legal representatives have rejected the claims of rape, sexual assault, and misconduct. In an earlier statement, they asserted, "Mr. Combs and his attorneys are fully confident in the facts of the case, their legal strategies, and the integrity of the judicial system. In the courtroom, the truth will come out: Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone, whether an adult or a minor, male or female."
