Jay Stansfield

Jay Stansfield netted 13 goals in 37 games while on loan at Birmingham City last season. His impressive performance earned him the player of the season award. The 21-year-old striker also scored a goal against Birmingham in Fulham's 2-0 victory in the Carabao Cup second round.

Birmingham City have shattered the transfer record for League One by securing the services of striker Jay Stansfield from Fulham for over £15 million.

Birmingham had already set a new record for the most expensive incoming transfers in League One twice this transfer window before finalizing the signing of Stansfield.

According to reports from Sky Sports News, the initial price is said to be £15m, although sources in Birmingham suggest it may be lower.

Christoph Klarer and Willum Thor Willumsson were both acquired for around £3.5 million each, but the Stansfield deal surpasses those amounts by a large margin.

The 21-year-old player was adored by fans after a successful loan spell at Birmingham City last season.

He netted a total of 13 goals in 37 games while playing at St Andrew's. This impressive performance earned him the prestigious player-of-the-season title at the club.

Stansfield found the back of the net during Fulham's 2-0 victory against Birmingham in the Carabao Cup second round earlier this week.
